Alchemy had its first seasonal photo shoot. For a location Jamie secured an old dinner train in Apopka. Not only did the creative group put together the hair and make up they think is going to be trendy in the spring but they also styled the clothing looks.
Clothing was provided by Ginger in Winter Park and Etoile Boutique in the Milk district.
This was a fun project and we hope to see more seasonal shoots come from the crew at Alchemy.
On February 13th @ 8:47 pm I became a great uncle to baby Dominic.
At 7lbs 5oz its amazing that baby Dom arrived 4 weeks premature. Just a few weeks before Dom's arrival my niece Joelle was hospitalized for having a small stroke due to a blood clot in her brain. As the family was concerned for both Joelle and Dom, there was no stopping the little guy from entering this world.
Congratulations to Walter, Joelle, Angelina and Dominic.
Here are a few pictures I was able to capture at the Justs residence.
Out of the blue I got a call from the photo director for Guitar World / Revolver magazine in NYC. My assignment was to photograph producer Jason Suecof from Charred Walls of the Damned for the "Tune Up" section of the magazine. Since Jason's partner Richard Christy lives in NYC the plan was to merge two photographs into one. My challenge was to match the lighting exact to what the photographer in NYC had done.
To my surprise Richard won Studdering John's job with Howard Stern, which is why he's up in NYC.
Upon arriving at their studio in Sanford, I was greeted by Jason and immediately felt at home. The studio I set up in was a bit on the small side. Especially for shooting "high - key" lighting.
On this assignment I spent 2 solid days photographing construction equipment for Hubbard as part of their new marketing/ advertising campaign. Both days I was escorted by 'Eddie and Craig' in a company Ford F150. Eddie is the companies oldest working employee and Craig is a cool South African who has heavy equipment in the veins. On both days I was driven to some pretty neat construction sites. One of which included the runway at MCO airport which Hubbard is in the process of resurfacing. I was literally 120 feet from the center of the runway!
I really enjoyed this shoot on many levels. The photography work was different than what I'm used to and what I learned about roadside construction was priceless. Hats off to all the hard work that goes into the nice roads we get to drive on each and every day.
Here are a few images from the shoot. Thanks again Eddie and Craig!
Often times people ask me.. what is Nude Nite?? To my surprise its the largest nude art show in the U.S. The Orlando show spans over 3 days and always falls on Valentines day. The venue is typically held at a large industrial style warehouse (15,000 sqft range). During the event expect everything from paintings, murals, photography, sculpture, bronze and mixed media. There are also live performances that go on during the event. Yes, lots of eye candy..
This being my third consecutive year involved with the poster photography, the concept surrounded itself around a colorful Moulin Rouge / turn of the century / circus vibe. When collaborating with art director Jeff Matz of Lure Design we came across a neat image that had massive pink ostrich feathers. Thanks to Sunha we were able to get our hands on a set locally. Caroline Van Haastert provided an amazing job with make up & hair. For a model I decided to use KT who is a true professional and delivered exactly what I was after. And last but not least, special thanks to Alan U.K. for his mad skillz..
Below is what we came up with for the poster and some "behind the scene" shots of the set up and the warehouse. Jeff had his new 7D handy and put together a little video from his perspective.
This was a fun shoot put together for Ella, the Chocolate Provocateur. Ella is in the process of leaving her full time job as head pastry chef to pursue her dream of opening her very own chocolate pastry shop.
The photo concept was simple, sultry chocolate. Oddly enough, we set up studio in Ella's house. I ended up using 2 beauty dish reflectors for key light. 2 grids for hair light. And was lucky enough to use Dom's trippy "tilt shift" 85mm lens. Consuelo had the brilliant idea of bringing the mask and had the fun job of making chocolate jewelry. And once again, fantastic job Alan!!
Its been far too long since my last shoot with Michael Pennimpede and Patrick Kelly. On our last shoot we were way out in Christmas FL and I had these guys jumping on a trampoline in front of a massive alligator.
On this shoot we were working on Michaels presentation project for Alchemy Hair Salon. Michael wanted that busy blurry vibe so I decided to use the Florida Mall as a location. Set up was was fun in that "sniper" kind of way..
Here is what we came up with.
This is what we did in Christmas FL.. Michael and Patrick with long hair!
I feel lucky enough to be following my passion 15 years and counting..
From my humble beginnings in Miami Beach to my last residency in NYC I have broadened the scope and gained experience in what I considers a true passion. Some of my clients include: Sony music, BMG, London Sire, Spin, Rolling Stone, Mixmag, URB, Orlando Weekly, Orlando Magazine, and to many more to list..
Since moving to Orlando from NYC shortly after 9/11/01 life has continued its interesting and loving path. I am now happily married to my lovely wife Lindsay and I recently became a dad. When not on assignment you can find me spending family time. On any given Sunday you can find me riding the Triumph Tiger or the BMW R90 on the open road.
